What's Happening by Grade

Kindergarten - We have been learning about Eric Carle and the job of an author and illustrator.

First - Computer skills were our focus in May. Students can name the parts of a computer and we have used our new mini-lab to write and illustrate stories about ourselves.

Second - We are taking a trip around the world in May. Students are using the electronic encyclopedia to learn about a famous place and write a short paper about it.

Third - In May we have finished reading Andrew Clement's book Lunch Money. We also designed and made mini-books - acting as both author and illustrator.

Fourth -  Students are taking what they know about reference materials to research a famous person and create a "bio-cube" about them using the Internet.

Fifth - The last weeks of May we've been learning smart search strategies for the Internet. Students got to practice their new skills by playing the "Google game".
Check out our new books!

We have purchased many new books this year with money donated by the PTO. As of May, we have bought over 300 new fiction and non-fiction books and AR tests.

The library was also able to choose many new books during the PTO-run book fair during conferences.  A big thank you to the PTO for their donation and support of the library!
